COVID REGULATIONS FOR
All COVID restrictions for indoor events in Belgium (facemask, social distancing etc.) have been lifted. However, when attending an event you must adhere to the following rules. Please read them carefully and make sure you have taken all necessary precautions.
Every visitor will have to provide the following documents at the entrance:
Your festival ticket
A proof of identity (i.e. official ID or passport)
A valid EU Digital COVID Certificate.
If he or she CANNOT provide this, entrance to the festival site will be REFUSED. We will make NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule, not even for artists and their crew!
The EU Digital COVID Certificate is a digital proof that a person has either:
A vaccination certificate that proves you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You are fully vaccinated 2 weeks after your last vaccination dose AND with a vaccine is EMA-certified or Covishield vaccine.
Since 1 September, vaccination certificates from non-EU countries are also be accepted in Belgium under certain conditions, depending on their equivalence agreement with the EU. Check your local authority to find out the most up-to-date regulations for your country.
A recovery certificate which proves that you have recovered from COVID-19. You have a positive PCR test result no older than 180 days and you no longer need to isolate.
A test certificate that proves a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. A PCR test is valid for the day of the test + 2 days and a rapid antigen test is valid for day of test + 1 day.
The certificate has to contain a standardised QR code that works for all EU residents (+ other non-EU countries and territories who joined the EU Digital COVID Certificate system).
WHICH CERTIFICATES ARE VALID?
For Belgium residents a COVID Safe Ticket (CST) is identical to the European Corona certificate, so you don't need any additional document if you have one. You can find more info on the CovidSafe Ticket on this official site.
Coming from abroad:
Are you coming to Desertfest from abroad? Make sure you have a EU digital certificate in your app that is valid for visiting an indoor event in Belgium.
Examples of international Corona apps where we can validate the international certificate with a QR code:
AT THE FESTIVAL ENTRANCE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PRESENT PROOF OF IDENTITY, I.E. AN OFFICIAL ID CARD OR PASSPORT!
When you have your EU digital certificate printed out on paper, it needs to contain a QR code which can be scanned at the entrance.
When obtaining a test certificate with proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, make sure that your certificate is valid for the entire duration of the festival.
Also note that if you're staying in Belgium for longer than 48 hours, you must complete the Public Health Passenger Locator Form (PLF) in the 48 hours before your arrival in Belgium, even if you’re vaccinated.
More info on how to obtain the European Corona certificate can be found here.
For non-Belgian citizens, scroll down to the chapter 'I do not live in Belgium' to comply with the travel, testing and quarantine regulations.
